Aging cat - supplements?

Our cats are 13 both able to go outside but choose inside most of the time, one has started to hop rather than run downstairs, we've taken him to the vet who says he's got good range of movement and isn't in pain. Does anyone recommend a supplement for joints etc that a fussy cat will actually eat?

Seraquin. They're chewable tablets which you think "yeah as if a cat will eat that"
Mine begs for them Confused and he will even turn his nose up at dreamies
I ask if he wants a sweetie and he comes running for the seraquin

I used to use salmon oil on Ollie's recommendation. But they are now refusing to eat it! So will try seraquin

Try Yumove capsules....you open up and sprinkle the capsule contents into/onto the food wet or dry. I usually warm up an unopened pouch of wet food first.by putting it into a bowl of hot water anyway and this helps the powder to disappear into the food (!but then my cat is incredibly fussy). My cat is 20+ years old and was having trouble getting upstairs and onto the sofa but was otherwise healthy. Trying to get any medication into her was a struggle too....the usual anti inflammatory meds which you can mix with food she could detect straightaway...so I didn't hold out much hope of getting this into her.....but no, even the double dose suggest ed for the first week or so she had no problems....and her movement has dramatically improved....she is back to running up the stairs and can get back onto her favourite chair by herself. It took several weeks to begin to notice a difference and she is still stiff especially if she has been sleeping in one position for a time but is noticeably more active. And happier in herself too. I thought it was me at first wanting her to improve but others have commented on the changes too. Originally I tried this cos It's formulated for dogs and several friends using it for their dog recommended it It's ready available online but shop around. Not cheap but not so eyewateringly expensive either in my view that it's not worth a try. Good luck!

Ollie says delicious
If I offered a dreamie or the seraquin, he would pick the tablet

Tried yumove, no cigar. Will look at the others, thank you!

I have been using the Yumove for my 15 y/o for a few days and already noticing a difference. She had been pulling out hair after a traumatic month with many vet visits and treatments. This seems to have stopped now.

WildFlowerBees · 25/10/2022 03:36

How do you get your cat to take yumove @wanttokickoffbutcant mine just refuses no matter how I try and hide it!

Sorry @WildFlowerBees only just seen this! Are you using the capsule? I break them open and sprinkle in her food and she eats it fine.
