New kittens with existing cat - where to keep?

We are very excitedly getting two 8 week old kittens tomorrow.

We have a 4 year old cat already, a very docile wee thing.

where do we keep the new kittens? Our current cat has litter tray in utility room and food in kitchen. Downstairs is pretty open plan - we have the living room which can be completely shut off, then playroom/dining room/kitchen open plan and utility with a door that closes.

Utility not huge but does have space for two litter trays. But should they all be apart? Kittens could go in kitchen/playroom/dining room but then older cat can’t access food and litter.

help please!

We ‘fostered’ (Grin) a kitten last year and kept her in the spare room for a few days, our older cats and dog could smell her through the door so they knew she was there. We did supervised introductions after a few days. Dog was instantly besotted, middle cat took a few days and now they’re inseparable, older cat still hates her but has stopped punching her in the face at least.

We foster failed. 😂

I could never foster as I would just keep them all!!

our spare room is in the middle of being decorated or would have had them in there. They were abandoned so not much notice!!

I think maybe keeping them in the living room to begin with and letting older cat have everywhere else, then introductions after a few days.
