My cat is having a really bad outbreak of little sores all over that seem to be very itchy

i am now using advocat from the vet but have used frontline where she didn’t get this rash. I make sure I treat her on exactly the same day each month and my house is completely flea clear and fairly clean (not every day but every week) to avoid dust. She is also clear and I check her regularly

im going to take her to the vet but as it’s a long weekend I thought I’d ask if anyone has seen anything similar and had any advice.

I wondered about food - she eats royal canin for fussy eaters, cat soup and gourmet petit - possibly not the best diet but she’s very fussy and has been anorexic so these are the things she likes unless it’s tuna and pulled chicken breast…

Please cat lovers of mn any advice welcome

Possibly harvest mites?

But wouldn’t advocat stop them biting?!

it could be I’ve looked them up…. I guess they could be in the garden

how many biting things are there?!?! (I’m joking and horrified at the same time)

I’ve had a real check for orange mites and it’s more like dandruff or eczema

You need a chat to your vet, rule out parasite causes.
Diets only hydrolysed diets are truly hypoallergenic.
My own cat has a food allergy which causes her to self traumatise, it took a lot of treatment to prevent her re opening the wound initially. She wore a cone for over 8 weeks. But long term it is controlled by Purina HA food.

Our cat had itchy blisters all over his neck and he would scratch until it was bleeding. Went through lots of medication and ended up going for allergy management food (hypoallergenic) which cleared his skin completely. He is now on this food for life.

Thanks for everyone’s help I’ll take her to the vets on Tuesday to discuss but will move her off the royal canin this weekend to a no grains no vegetables dry food and chicken and see if it helps
