Own up I know one of you must have splashed out!
I'm really tempted for my lady but I've seen the prices!
Anyone recommend?

Just me being daft about podgy puss then?

Ha. Like you could get a cat to Co operate with that. Good luck!

JustTheOneSwan · 23/08/2022 20:14

We've had a talk about the dreamies and cutting down. I showed her a YouTube video. She was so enthusiastic she opened one eye and bit me.

My friend bought a Cazami cat wheel. Her cats love it. But they're crazy bengals.

Exactly this 😂😂

Ooh is this a way of solving the cost of living crisis by getting our cats to power our homes? I'm totally in favour but not sure my furry friend will agree...

SpuytenDuyvil · 24/08/2022 05:09

Someone was moving out of the flat next to my DS and his fiancée and gave it to them. Their cat loves it. It's hilarious.

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 09:24

They're starting at £200 so that was a nice gift.
I'm thinking old bike wheel on a dynamo in the catio, bit of plywood and carpet scraps.
She's Burmese so prone to heftiness but I'm thinking the £200 will be offset for all the expensive dietary food she's going to refuse.
I know, I'm deluded.

We're getting ours a cat wheel for his first birthday, he's an indoor cat and he needs the exercise (of looking at it with disdain and walking away!!)

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 13:31

It'll be nice to have another dust gathering carbuncle to keep the cat trees company.
I've already started eyeing up the swish, expensive wooden ones.

I admire your optimism at getting a Burmese to comply. Picture?

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 13:42

She hasn't got a fade, the square in her fur is from her spay. This is her not using any of her 8 beds or two trees.

Good on her, she looks beautiful! Look how cosy she looks not using her beds or trees 😼

Chikapu · 24/08/2022 13:49

Ours does use his cat tree every day, it's his favourite spot to yell at the birds from and he sleeps on it too. We've had to replace the sisal on the legs as he'd sharpened his claws to death (ours!) on it so it's very well used.
The cat beds/caves/pillows/blankets on the other hand...

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 13:54

The other one doesn't really stand a chance she dominates him completely and uses him as a soother. He's usually got a soggy ear or tail from her comforting herself.
He seems to like it though he follows her like a shadow and sits listening attentively while she bellows all day.
I adore them.

I bought a treadmill for me and the cat used to go to sleep on it. I guess he got some exercise climbing on it! 🤷

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 14:02

Look at this, only £600...

Bargain at twice the price.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/08/2022 15:00

Notice that the cat isn't using it though ... it's a highly artistic cat hidey-hole.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/08/2022 15:02

For my boy, I need one that locks the cat in and plugs in with programmable cross country courses so he is forced to exercise. I'm dreading his MOT in November because he's HUGE. He just won't do anything except eat and sleep though.

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 16:08

She's like a yellow hulk.
She's broken the sliding door on the pantry and was helping herself to the old cats pouches. She steals boxes of Ritz crackers, she even eats mushrooms I always thought cats hated fungi but not her.
I thought a side effect of the spay might be a curbed appetite but no she's still stealing (share bag of wotsits yesterday) the vet already warned me she's too heavy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/08/2022 16:30

Does she like fishing rod toys? I used to get the Bengal running up and down stairs with ping pong ball too. Stairs tire them out really quickly ime.

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 16:43

She likes to watch the little one play, he does fetch and chases everything like a pro she just chews the string or the tubes on my medical equipment.
you'd think it'd be the opposite he's got massive goofy teeth and is a real scaredy cat but he plays lovely while she sits and disapproves with tiny little destruction fangs, giving me a nip every now and again to remind me I'm inferior.
I have to bring her downstairs or she sleeps in bed all day farting, the only time she moves is to pounce him with a belly flop.

I love this thread OP. I have a fatso too, and my 2nd cat is fairly sturdy as well. I'd love to get them using a wheel but I suspect it would initially be a novelty scratching post, and subsequently just a flop house

JustTheOneSwan · 24/08/2022 17:53

I know she'd find some way of getting him to turn it while she reclined but it's such a good solution in theory until you factor in fat cat.
