Non chunky cat food

Has anyone got any recommendations for cat food that is either very small chunks, or almost shredded. In gravy. Not that Legocat is fussy or anything 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

My fussy leave-all-the-chunks cat likes Gourmet Perle, and occasionally tolerates Felix As Good As it looks Gravy Lovers.

But Felix Tasty Shreds, and the Sheba one that looks like it would be perfect was no good at all.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/08/2022 15:57

Legocat is very accommodating. It doesn’t have to be organic does it? What more do you want? 😼

Regularsizedrudy · 20/08/2022 16:01

Lots of brands do “soup”. Felix and Sheba do

AnnaMagnani · 20/08/2022 16:05

Sheba cat soup was the ultimate food for my elderly cat.

Unfortunately it isn't a complete food but for a couple of years it was basically all she ate.

Not the same texture but Canagan herring flavour is now the food of foods in our house.

Thank you all! Let's try the particular little sod on some of these!

You could try kitten pouches. They have lumps but smaller lumps than adult cat food.

happilyseparated · 20/08/2022 17:20

Mine will only eat the gourmet gold pate. Lovely and swishy and smooth. Melting middle ones for extra runny bit.

thecatneuterer · 20/08/2022 17:35

I was also going to say Gourmet Gold pate. It's also the best stuff around for giving tablets as you can hide them in little balls of it.

Movinghouseatlast · 20/08/2022 17:37

Untamed has shredded chicken.

Cosycover · 20/08/2022 17:38

Felix as good as it looks isn't chunky.

unvillage · 21/08/2022 12:10

Untamed tins are small shreds. Lily's Kitchen does pate that you can mix with water if it needs to be soupier, no lumps at all.

EmmaC78 · 21/08/2022 23:30

Felix soup is popular with my fussy cat.

Pixiedust1234 · 22/08/2022 22:21

Our cat didn't like lumps either so we used to mash her food with an old metal fork. If we (dh) didn't mush it up properly she wouldn't eat it. Im guessing she had a small mouth and didn't like chewing gobstopper sized lumps. Cant say I blame her.

ILProbs · 22/08/2022 22:25

It's really pricey, but dcat has now decided that he eats royal canon, and little else. The pouches are small, thin chunks.

JamMakingWannaBe · 22/08/2022 22:29

We have the same issue. Loves the jelly but not the meat.

Try Morrison's own brand grain free - although I have a suspicion they have discontinued this.
Webbox pouches.
Pro-Choice from Lidl, and I think Sainsbury's, has nice small chunks.

Avoid Butchers Classic tinned or pouches. They have very big chunks.

Beamur · 22/08/2022 22:33

The little tins of Gourmet Perle have small chucks.
My cat likes the savoury cake version too, webbox mousse and the dinky gourmet sachets

BadGranny · 22/08/2022 22:35

Purina Gourmet Gold persuaded my late moggy to eat when cancer caused her jaw pain. No lumps at all. It’s expensive, though.

secrethedgehog · 22/08/2022 22:45

The whiskas 11 plus is very soft lumps for older cats. My fuss pot, not a senior, just a prince among cats , eats the whole lot unlike most lumpy stuff.

BaggiesBride · 22/08/2022 22:51

Mine are really enjoying Felix soup atm. For how long I don't know!! 🤷‍♀️

Please be aware that felix soup is a complimentary and not a complete cat food. Its fine when given with complete foods but mustnt be the only source of food.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/08/2022 01:46

I mash it with a fork.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 23/08/2022 07:25

Harry hasn't got many teeth so I have to mash his food (he has his own cutlery set), although he can eat biscuits without a problem! At the moment he's eating Meowing Heads which isn't lumpy at all, but isn't pate.

livinginsoup · 23/08/2022 07:32

Another vote for Gourmet Perle - my fussy beast refuses anything else.

Your so well trained! “I like my biscuits crunchy and my wet food mashed”

BergamotMouse · 24/08/2022 17:24

I've been trying various subscriptions at the moment to try and find something that works for our kittens.

Untamed is shredded chicken or fish that looks like a tin of tuna. They liked this.

Blink kitten food is quite soft. No chunks.

We're currently on a trial of katkin which they like so far. Not chunks but quite a thick paste that could be thinned down with some water to make it thinner (photo attached). It's 100% meat. Quite pricey but if you wanted to try it here's a link for 50% off a trial box which probably ends up being cheaper than other premium cat food. Each sachet is probably the size of 3 or 4 small tins of other food.
