Help - best wet food for very mature cat (20+)

Hi everyone

I’ve adopted a very mature cat a couple of years ago, he was generally happy and healthy with big appetite, despite his age (he’s over 20 years old at this point!).

Anyways, he first started to refuse eating dry food, and now he started taking a really long time eating the fillets in jelly/gravy type of wet food. I bought him a pâté style pouch from the Coop to try it out and he loved it. It’s obvious he can’t chew much and prefers smoother texture.

I’ve spent all evening looking for a brand that only does smooth textured wet food for senior cats, and all I keep seeing is Lily’s kitchen - which looks great, but it’s too expensive.

Is there any ”mainstream” brand that does terrine type of food?

Many thanks x

Does it need to be designated for senior cats as gourmet gold does a pate style food?

Purina Gold Mouse Pate Senior, available at pets at home.

I just basically went thru the Pets At Home shelves for my elderly adoptee. I know Applaws do a couple. You can just mash food with a fork, he might like that. (I don't recommend blending it, that truly is vile 😆)

Have you had a vet check him over? Mine had mouth ulcers as a result of kidney issues which is why he found eating difficult.

I use natures menu, they do a senior version
My toothless boy loves it, he has the kitten version as it's more calories

Oh and it's smooth ish. It's like a lumpy pate Grin but with no bits of that makes sense
Sometimes I add a bit of warm water and he slurps it down Confused

My fussy cat likes Webbox mousse. There are some Purina ones too - melting hearts go down quite well.

Kitten food. Super soft and unless he is podgy, it’s high calorie too.
