Adding a kitten playmate to two young adult cats - yes or no?

We have 2 cats, a brother and sister, almost 2 years old.
Girlcat is quite grown up, affectionate but independent, goes out a bit, likes to sleep when at home.
Boycat is an attention-seeking love machine, barely ever goes out, hangs out with us all the time, wants to play a lot. We obviously do play with him, but when he tries to play with his sister she bats him away and gets very annoyed. The dog is also not interested in playing with him.

My question: would getting another (boy) kitten be a good idea here or not? Any thoughts welcome!

Definitely not. Multi cat households are. Huge source of stress for cats. Sibling pairs can work but generally cats are not social animals and do not need playmates. This is unlikely to go well and very likely to go wrong.

We did this with great success two years ago!

We have a 7yo male, a 6yo female and a 2yo male living together with absolutely no issues - they're not related and have never fought. They share food, water and litter with no issues, love a good play-fight and zoom around the living room and spend most nights cuddled up together in a pile on the sofa.

Cats naturally form colonies when left "feral" so I really don't believe they're as anti-social as some people seem to believe.
