Cat suddenly acting strange

Last night DP was lying on the floor, playing with the cat - she was rolling around purring . Then suddenly she jumped up and ran away at high speed. Zoomies are not that unusual so laughed and just left her too it

But a few hours later when we went to bed she was acting super jumpy - swinging between hiding under the bed, to running away. Then she was suddenly and aggressively licking herself (in different places). We then realised she’d pooed under my DP’s desk.

We tried to sooth her but she almost seemed a bit spooked by us so left her with extra water and went to bed.

This morning she was miaowing for food, which was a relief. So I fed her - she took one bite and then again suddenly started licking herself before running off at crazy speed.

She did eventually come back and has eaten everything we’ve given her today, but still acting very weird. Hiding a lot, coming down for some fuss, then suddenly getting spooked by something that’s not at all obvious to us.

She's around 6 years old and we’ve had her for 3 years. Sorry bit longer than intended!

Any thoughts??

Take her to the vet.
You know your animal, she's acting odd. Could be hurt

She needs to see a vet ASAP.

GoodVibesHere · 14/05/2022 20:28

Could it be fleas or a tick irritating her?

sickofthisnonsense · 14/05/2022 22:15

How's the cat?

chisanunian · 14/05/2022 22:19

One of mine behaves like that when there are fleas about.

Yes, vet OP. Girl cat was exactly the same, turned out she'd been bitten.
