We moved house in October last year. And my cat didn’t do to well with it. Has been in fights and has been really stressed.

Took him in to the vets in Jan /feb time for a vaccination which was awful and ended up with him having some sort of fit on the way home ( stress thing ) and struggling to breathe.

anyway fast forward to how. And I noticed that he has started to twitch. It was subtle at first. But in the last week it has been full on.
I have an appointment next week at the vets. But I was wondering if anyones cat has developed this. Wondering if it is stress related. He appears to have an arch enemy with a ginger cat.
He is 13 so not a young cat and has recently struggled to jump like he used to. I put that down to age. He also had a bad heart. So not sure what I would in terms of treatment.

Anyone else had this.

I did try and keep him in to help lower his stress levels but that just made it worse

Try some pet remedy.

When I've had an ear infection she twitched like crazy! Could be something as innocuous as that so try not to worry until you have seen the vet.

The struggling to jump sounds like arthritis and is probably making him very miserable and not wanting to move. Definitely mention that to the vets as well as the twitch.

With regards to that though, I'm not sure but could well be stress. Have you considered something like low dose Zyclene or any of the cat calming tablets - easily bought from Amazon or Ebay but again, I'd get vet advice.

He just sounds a little overwhelmed as well as getting on in years but you'll find a way to help him, I'm sure.

We adopted an older rescue cat who used to twitch. She would go into a sort of trance and sit there trembling for 30 seconds or so, and then kind of come out of it. She once conveniently did it actually in front of the vet, who diagnosed petit mal seizures (also known as absence seizures).

She wasn't distressed by them, and the vet said unless they got dramatically worse, then no need to treat with anything. They said it was possibly due to not having been wormed as a kitten, which could have caused injury to the brain. We knew she wasn't NT anyway, so that seemed a reasonable explanation. She did eventually also lose her sight.

Please do take advice from your vet though, as twitching or seizures can also be caused by poisoning.
