Please humour me!
A very lovely senior feline gentleman lives two doors down the road, we often meet him on the road or in our front yard and stop to say hello.
The other day he was involved in an unknown accident in the night, and I found him in my house in the early morning looking physically unharmed, but shaky and disoriented - I still haven't quite worked out how he got in as we have a microchip cat flap!
Me and DD (10) looked after him until we could alert the neighbours several hours later.
I'm delighted to say that he's now returned home from the vet and is now on house rest. DD has always been quite besotted with him, especially now that he sought her out in his hour of need, and would like to buy him a little gift.
I don't know what he eats, and a toy probably isn't appropriate as he is sleepy and meant to be resting. Any ideas? Grin

What about a nice fluffy blanket? Mine always like the thin fleecy ones from supermarkets that are about £7. Asda usually have lovely ones and they are easy to machine wash clean.

That is a nice idea, thank you! That's exactly the kind of thing that I'm looking for.

Gato May Loco brand catnip banana. Those who know, know! Elderly gent cats love to get high. The big cardboard box or giant Boots paper bag really comes into its own at that point.

Mine are addicted to Mollys Mice and Yeowww bananas, which they lick then roll on, then lie there with a glazed look in their eyes totally stoned. So low energy output for maximum pleasure.

Another thing to consider, assuming the cat in question isn't on a special diet, is an Encore Tuna loin, available at most supermarkets.

If he's not up to playing, but does like treats, you can't go wrong with Lick-E-Lix! Especially the green packet one, Liver sausage & cat grass. Fabulous stuff, even when they are off their food, or when you need to give medication, straight from the tube, off your finger or squeezed into their bowl!

Your DD sounds so sweet! I’d go for premium cat treats and a toy. He may not play with it yet but his owners will remember your daughter’s kindness in the future when he can play again.
