Has anyone got a product which removes cat hair from the air?

2x long haired cats and the fluff just floats around and is on everything. Obviously I can hoover them floor, but it’s everything else!

What works?

Brushing the cats more? (I am a bit slack)
An air purifier?

I use the soft tool on the hoover and hoover all surfaces with it.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/04/2022 16:42

I also damp dust afterwards.

QuebecBagnet · 14/04/2022 16:43

It’s floating round the air, I’d like something which sucks it out the air (or off the cats) before it settles.

Hmmm, I never dust. Maybe I should.

I have a hepa filter, that seems to work with allergies?

My cats love to be 'brushed' with one of those sticky lint rollers. We get TONS of loose hair off them. It really helps. That and one of those robot vacuum cleaners going round once a day.

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 15/04/2022 00:07

Dancing about with a couple of lint rollers like maracas. Burns some calories and annoys the felines too, so triple win.

LadyBrienne · 15/04/2022 00:14

These filters are great - we got them because we live in a place where the air is pretty bad - but it also works for the hair from our two cats also

Genius idea to brush the cats with lint rollers. I’ll be on that today. I’m going to buy a cheapish hepa filtered air purifier as well and see if that helps.

Hoover the cats. My old labrador used to love being hoovered! He would fling himself into the path of the hoover and roll onto his back so I could do his belly. Not sure how that would go with cats though.

I think I’d be savaged! 😂

Oh, look at them! Love the fluffy brown tail 😍

I think brushing would be the only solution for that type of hair. I've seen gloves that you can wear with bristles on to brush cats so they think you are just stroking them. Never owned a cat though so not sure how agreeable they are to grooming!

QuebecBagnet · 15/04/2022 07:29

He has a total squirrel tail. ❤️ They’re both fairly happy to be brushed.

I'm so happy to see this thread. My six are all getting on a bit now and really don't groom them selves properly. I do what I can with grooming and get handfuls out every time but the stray fluff is out of hand. I've been considering an air purifier too. Now we have spring sunshine the floating hair and bits show up so much more.

jaundicedoutlook · 17/04/2022 07:04

Gravity?

QuebecBagnet · 17/04/2022 07:38

Gravity?
Gravity is the problem not the answer. I would like an option to zap it before it settles on every surface going.

We just use a sticky roller after the hairs have settled. Trying to pluck them from mid air is a thankless task…

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2022 08:58

@Ohmnomnom there is a stiletto in one of the Ramona Quimby books about a cat that lives to be hoovered!

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2022 09:00

Story* not stiletto!

QuebecBagnet · 17/04/2022 09:01

The hairs just settle on everything. I have to wipe the kettle spout before using it. There’s cat hair on the lid of the jam pot. I’ve washed all my curtains this weekend as gave up trying to lint roller them.
