Cat not weeing in the litter tray

Our cat ( 8 months old) is excellent at using her litter tray. But the last few weeks she keeps weeing in the corner of our dining room. This is were she sleeps at night. The litter tray is right next door in the kitchen and she has easy access to it so it's not like she would struggle to access it. I have been using an cat odour remover hoping that she won't be able to smell were she's gone, but it doesn't seem to have worked!!
Is there anything that I can do, or any hints as to why she's doing this?

Cats don't normally wee where they sleep (even when they aren't using the litter tray for whatever reason) so I think it would be a good idea to get her checked out by the vet to see if there's a medical issue before you do anything else.

Mine does this if her litter tray is not spotlessly clean. If it starts to smell even slightly of urine she goes by the front door. And I have to use an odour neutraliser litter.

How about putting the litter tray on top of the area she is weeing.

Is the litter tray in sight of a window or door? Our neighbours cat used to stare in at the window when our girls were using ours which spooked them into weeing elsewhere, we have them out of sight now. They also have a strong preference for the super-clumping type litter (a mineral one)

Firstly I would take her to the vet to make sure she doesn't have a UTI - peeing outside the litter box is normally the first sign that something's not quite right.

If she gets the all-clear then I would give her another litter tray and pop it in the spot where she's currently weeing. Many cats like having the choice of two litter trays (the ideal number is one per cat, plus one extra). It may also be worth looking at the type of tray and litter you use too - some cats are really fussy!

Will take her to the vets to get her checked just to make sure xx the litter box is kept in the corner of the kitchen in a utility area its always been there since we've had her and she's not had that many accidents ( apart from if the door has been shut so couldn't get in!) She has had an accident in the living room fireplace but I think there was a lot of ash on the fireplace hearth so I'm guessing she thought it was a litter tray!!
Just wondering if she now has got it into her head that that's were she goes for her wees now.

Maybe if I move the litter tray to this part of the room. See how she gets on there.
