Cat 2 has been sick most days for two weeks. Mostly hairball heavy, sometimes just sludgy. She's outwardly in rude health, as confirmed by the vet, although vet has done some bloods to be on the safe side and we are awaiting the results.
In the meantime I've been wondering about diet. We did change her food about 8 weeks ago. She was for a few years happy on Sainsbury's grain-free hypoallergenic dry food, with some Whiskas wet as well. The dry food was discontinued with a few other brands last year, due to concerns about toxicity and production never restarted. Since then, we've struggled to find a dry food that they both like. This meant they were eating a bigger proportion of Whiskas, than before, and so we continued to look for a more palatable dry food.
8 weeks ago we started them on James' Wellbeloved, which they really liked, and which led to increased dry food intake and less reliance on whiskas wet. All good. Until the puking for the last two weeks.
I guess given that it was 6 weeks between the new food and the start of the vomiting that the two could be unrelated, but wondered if anyone has any particular recommendations for pukey, fussy cats?
Also does feeding routine make a difference? We offer whiskas AM and PM (not loads - a can lasts the two cats a couple of days at least) but leave the dry food down for grazing? Could she be pigging out a bit too much?
Thanks - that was longer than I first thought it would be?
