Cat possibly diabetic reassurance

My cat has been loosing weight recently and I've been planning a vet visit after pay day. Today particularly I've realised how much thirstier she's been and watching her eat a can of treat tuna she was wolfing it down like she was starved even though she's been eating. To cap it all off at bedtime she had a huge wee on the bathroom floor. These seem to be the four big signs of diabetes.
I'm really worried about her, she seems so sad, I've been putting blankets in the strange places she has been sitting and trying to give her gentle attention but she seems v tired.
My secondary concern I feel awful about but it's money. Money is really tight at the moment. I don't have money leftover at the end of a month. I'm terrified how much taking her to the vet is going to cost. I'm terrified that she'll be diabetic and need insulin. I worried that I won't even be able to take the kids to the in laws for a weekend because I can't afford to pay a cattery. Usually neighbours look after cats but I can't ask them to come in twice a day and put the responsibility of medication on them. Does anyone have a cat that's diabetic that can say anything reassuring at all?

She also has all of the signs of hyperthyroidism and in fact several other conditions of older cats.
The sooner she is seen by a vet the more likely treatment will have a beneficial effect.

Thank you @Lonecatwithkitten
I am going to have her checked out by vet.
She's not an older cat though, 5 is young to middle aged.
I feel like it's so unlucky. Her brother started having fits and was diagnosed with epilepsy at a year old and now has kidney problems from the medication.
