Boy cat has been bitten... (With picture)

Back from holiday and boy cat has been bitten on one of his back legs.

He's cheery as anything, eating and drinking and playing as normal. He's walking absolutely fine, only bothered at it a couple of times since last night. It looks quite clean to me.

I gave him a bit of metacam last night just to be on the safe side, in case we was in any pain but he doesn't seem to be at all - he's always quite obvious with pain and goes off his food and hides.

See how it goes or vets tomorrow?

Thanks all for your support. He's such a happy little soul, even after all that, it just makes me so sad. He's making biscuits on my chest right now.

I've remembered I have free video calls with a vet via my insurance so I'll do that first thing (I don't really like our vet but they're close and have been ok with emergencies). Then will take it from there.

I had enough metacam left to give him a dose, just in case he's in any pain (he also has elbow dysplasia so very used to taking it!).

Just to lighten the mood, he fell asleep with his face squashed into DH's lap and woke up like this.

Poor boy! Absolute monsters who did this, hope you find them and report them.

If he’s been shot could the bullet still be in there? Definitely get him checked out.

Definitely take him to the vet. It looks almost exactly as I remember one of my childhood cats being shot by an air gun pellet.

She needed antibiotics & the vet easily removed it during the appointment. We’d never have noticed it if she hadn’t pulled all the hair from the area (she was a very dense coated tortie).

Police were involved (it was the 80s) & the local kids who were known to piddle about in the woods behind our house had a stern talking to (apparently, according to our lovely plod neighbour).

The cat was fine, barely noticed all the fuss, although she did then start a heart stopping pattern wandering across the road to visit our Officer neighbour!
