Dreading not being able to give greedy cat breakfast before vets tomorrow

This probably sounds dramatic but am absolutely dreading tomorrow morning. Dh has to be up for work about 630 and cat is going to the vet at 815 and is the greediest cat and Will think we are being so cruel nor giving her food in the morning . She will be miaowing Non stop 😞She's having teeth out so nil by mouth after 10pm tonight. Arghhh she's going to think we are being awful not feeding her ☹️

She'll be pissed off with you for sure, but she won't remember it once she is back in her normal routine.

If you haven't already, get her carrier out now and put it where she can see it, so she doesn't run off and hide when you produce it in the morning.

Hope the dental goes well!

Thank you. I'm hoping having the bad teeth out will make her happier in the long run but she's going to hate me in the morning ! Think I'll give her some tuna this evening as a treat

Ah, my cat had dental surgery on Monday. She was not impressed at no breakfast either. She kept trying to trip me up but then I think realised what was happening so got under her blanket (she's 12, so has breakfast then a long sleep!) surgery was fine. She did howl all the way there. She didn't eat at the vets after but as soon as she was home wanted to eat and kept asking for more 🙄 made up for those few hours!

Hope all goes well.

Aww, poor girl. They do make you feel awful don’t they?.

idril · 23/02/2022 19:36

It is awful!

You just have to disengage and kind of switch your brain off whilst telling yourself it's for he own benefit.

Feed her at 10pm so her bodyclock isn't quite so expectant of food at the normal time. Assuming you normally feed her earlier.

We all know about that. You feel so guilty & they make you feel 10 times worse. I try to ignore as much as possible, but find myself stressed to hell. They don't appreciate that you're helping them. Big feast when she gets home.

My 12 year old is having teeth cleaned under general tomorrow and possible couple out. In for 8-45 nil by mouth midnight, but told to give a small meal at 6am. Monday gave him scrambled egg as an experiment, got a sniff and look of contempt. Tuesday other vet suggestion, white fish, same result. Phoned vet todayX’Could he have a bit of chicken, which he loves? No’ Had to make special trip into town to pick up a special pouch. Have to get up tomorrow at 6 and hope his highness condescends to eat the special pouch.
Guess we will both be on pins tomorrow whilst they are away. Good luck tomorrow

Mine is the same OP! He's going to have his balls chopped off tomorrow morning and he is going to be so pissed off at not having breakfast 🤦‍♀️
