What do you think of Webbox cat food?

All the other makes I've tried on MrCat recommend 2-3 pouches for a 4kg senior cat. Webbox Naturals recommend only 2 pouches for a 4kg senior cat and 2.5 pouches for 6kg cat. All 100g pouches.

This suggests to me that the Webbox food may be higher in calories and nutrients than the other makes.

MrCat is nearly 11yo. He was obese when we got him. He now gets 250-300g of wet food (ie 3 pouches of 85 or 100g) plus up to 30g of dry food, and weighs 6.6kg (yes, he's a big boy, and the vet has confirmed that this is the right weight for him).

If Webbox is a good food, then I need I need to adjust other food he gets to keep him a healthy weight.

So, what do you think, is Webbox Naturals wet food worth the special trip to the supermarket that stocks it?

Ask Mrcat, only he can tell you Grin

On a serious note i have tried to feed our very ill cat (liver probs) higher quality food, no grain etc etc. The better the quality eg blink, the more she threw a tantrum over us poisoning her. Felix and sheba fish are her main ones with the odd pouch of whiskas Confused

I don't think MrCat read the manual. He eats pretty much any wet cat food but is horrified by it if it is served in a different bowl!

Sorry to hear about your little cat. Sad

MrCat is healthy apart from needing at least one tooth out, and I hope he'll be ok with the anaesthetic when he has it done in a few weeks time.

We have 2 fuss-cats they are fussy about nearly all wet food including branded and own brand (whiskas has always been unpopular but they used to eat felix good as it looks) I doubt they eat a full pouch per day each. Webbox was no more unpopular than anything else ...but that isn't helpful! They don't seem nearly as fussy about dry food though. (Thankfully!!)

She is indeed little at 2.65kg but 8yrs old. Not had a firm diagnosis yet which is why I've been trying different, better quality foods to bulk her up.

Tried blink, Harringtons and webblox etc and all had her putting paws around her throat and gagging in sheer horror (think teenage amateur dramatics, funny to watch) but if yours will eat anything then worth a try. It was definitely a brand I thought of as higher quality when looking around. I would be interested to know the outcome if you went for it though.

Maybe not helpful as was webbox’s kitten food, but mine ate it happily but it gave them both diarrhoea.

Logoplanter · 23/02/2022 21:06

Mine both ate it (jelly only as they turned their noses up at the gravy one). From memory the meat content was pretty good for the price and I liked the fact that it was grain free but I'm not a cat food connoisseur so can't tell you much over that. They are currently on Athena which I don't think is as good but they are clearing their bowls which was something they didn't do on the Webbox.

I also noticed the different in recommended feeding quantities and I think ours ate less than when eating other pouches but we do supplement with dry food which we don't specifically weigh so that may be the reason 🤷

My cat is 17 and has recently become extremely fussy. I've tried several premium brands but Webbox is about the only cat food she will eat. I think because it has a high meat content.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 26/02/2022 22:26

Mine tried it and turned their noses up.

The only wet food they'll all eat consistently is Felix meaty selection in jelly.

StartingGrid · 26/02/2022 22:50

Meat and Animal Derivatives (60%, of which Chicken 5%, Duck 5%)...

This isnt what I'd call a premium food really, just maybe a cheeseburger instead of the double that felix/whiskas are equivalent to!

CPGyellowwallpaper · 26/02/2022 22:58

I found their dog food excellent.

The wet cat food my cat refused to eat...however I think I have a faulty model as she also refuses sardines, pilchards, Mackrell and throw up if she eats certain dreamies. However she will eat pretty much any meat I put down for the dog (who adores cat food)

WeirdlyKind · 26/02/2022 23:08

It's lower in protein than Felix as good as it looks.

There's probably better out there but it's not abysmal either.
