I can’t get up can I?

I moved upstairs to the spare room last night as I was having a bad night, so I had a lie in. DCat has found me and is so happy about it. DCat is 1 of 3, the quietest and generally gets pushed out so a bed with a person in and no other cats is his own personal bliss. I just tried to sneak out of bed but he woke up and did that rolling around purring thing. I can’t leave him can I! (Disclaimer: I’m ill not just lazy hence being in bed this late!).

I can’t get up can I?

Absolutely not its a legal requirement

Joxster · 25/01/2022 10:22

Can’t move. You’re doomed to stay in bed!

Beamur · 25/01/2022 10:26

Sweet. Enjoy a few more minutes.
One of my cats sleeps with me and without fail grumbles loudly every time I get up before she's ready to. She glares at the alarm. I have caught her patting it a few times, I suspect trying to turn it off!

Cats lurrrrve ill people, all still and hot and quiet.

DH had flu once with a temp of 102. The cats were all over him like a rash.

Hope you feel better soon.

Beautiful boy 😍. No you must now stay trapped. This happened to me on Sunday I had to summon my daughter for help. Enjoy fluffy hugs hope you feel better soon.

mrsprefect · 25/01/2022 10:28

Don't you dare move.

TottiePlantagenet · 25/01/2022 10:29

Of course you've got to stay put for the cat - Rule 1 of Human ownership, they do whatever makes Cat most comfortable Grin

My cat was lying on top of my tummy last night, which meant I couldn't roll over to my side, my usual sleeping position. I slept on my back of course :)

SalsaLove · 25/01/2022 10:29

Stay put and let him love you up.

SiobhanSharpe · 25/01/2022 10:31

Two get out of jail free cards IMO
1/you're ill
2/the cat is kindly keeping you company

Dammitthisisshit · 25/01/2022 10:32

Oh bless. We shut them out at night as one of the others chews our noses and paws at our faces when we go to sleep, plus they chase each other around. So a bed with person is a rare treat for them!

The technical term is incapussitated. As you were put on earth for the convenience of your cats, you really can't move!

LindaEllen · 25/01/2022 10:39

Awww he's gorgeous. You're definitely not allowed to move!

Also never apologise for what time you get up, ill or not. There's this horrible thing where people feel their worth decreases if they lie in - sod that. I stay up until the early hours every night and always get up at this time in the morning. It works for my lifestyle and job, and I get everything done. There is no 'correct' time to get up.

Santahasjoinedww · 25/01/2022 10:41

My dd locks her 2 downstairs as they keep her awake. Last night she could only find 1 so she just went to bed.
And turned back the duvet....

I can’t get up can I?

😄 I stay up too late due to incapussitation. They are just so warm and purry, I may as well stream another episode of something before shuffling off the sofa to bed.
Maskandmantle · 25/01/2022 23:05

Definitely not allowed to get up. That would be cruel and unusual punishment.

@Dammitthisisshit this thread inspired me to register with Mumsnet!

@Allergictoironing incapussitated is the best term. It fits purrfectly with knitting/crochet supurrvisor, too.

KimikosNightmare · 25/01/2022 23:07

Beautiful cat. But yes, you can't move.
