I'm not usually a cat person but he/she is very friendly so I don't have an issue with them coming in for a kip during the day but would it piss you off as an owner?

We know nothing about this cat, think it might live a few doors down but I don't know anyone here so can't even ask and i also have diagnosed anxiety so approaching them is a no go Blush.

I don't feed them as wouldn't want to cause any issues if they're on special diet/foods etc and always put them out when we go out or mealtimes so it's not a hostage situation!

Ours got locked in a room overnight, she was not impressed. Poor thing must’ve slept on carpet all night.

@Fluffycloudland77

When my Bengal was little he used to come home smelling of the type of perfumes worn by older ladies.

Which is odd because he’d rarely go to people so he must’ve really liked them.

Our cat comes home smelling of perfume too. We also know she hangs out at other people’s houses as they’ve told us.

We don’t shut her out at all, there is food and warmth and people available here. She just thinks she has several homes…

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. When we looked around our house there was a fat ginger cat waiting at the front door and when we looked around we noticed the cat flap had been blocked. When we moved in we realised why! The ginger cat nicknamed fatty let's herself in and eats our cats food and then makes herself comfy on the dining table! If there's no food she waits for us and scratches at the cupboard door! Weve since found out she used to live in our house but the owner moved to the other end of the road and it still comes back here! Our neighbour two doors down has sort of adopted it but I think she visits a lot of houses judging by her size!

Usually we’re joking when we say it’s the cats house but that ginger cat really did hold the title deeds there 😹

I have a cheeky visitor who nips in, eats my cat's food when he left any, then takes himself up to my bed for a nap. Has scared me loads of times by shooting back downstairs when have gone upstairs for something!
My friend's cat used to nip into the house next door (which had been converted into flats) at night and sleep on random strangers' beds: they would wake up to find him fast asleep on the bed with them Fortunately none seemed to take it out on the cat but they weren't happy with the advice 'you just need to keep your window shut' especially in the summer.
Cats are cheeky chancers!

My Dcat goes all over. I have even seen her meowing at other people's fridges (she doesn't do that at home).
She knows where home is and I am glad she is sharing her love.

@YetAnotherSpartacus

I don't understand owners who shut their poor cats out in all weathers only to wonder why they find a nice warm bed elsewhere.
Most cats aren't shut out, they're just chancers!

One of ours used to visit an elderly lady neighbour. Since she has become house bound the cat has moved in permanently with her. I like to think the cat feels the neighbour needs his company more than we do. The fact she has a heated throw switched on permanently is nothing to do with it.Grin

I feel some sort of cat signal has been sent out as my cat simba and I are increasingly under seige from meighbouring cats. I live in a ground floor flat with back door and window access, for a few weeks a big cream and ginger male has been hanging around very noisily and even peering in my bedroom window. Simba who is normally a silient cat growls very deeply at him and I do not let him in as I know he has a home to go to. Wednesday I put some washing out in my shared garden , my adjacent neighbour's cat was out (she, the cat ,and simba are related) when I noticed a black and white cat sitting very still the next garden over under a tree. Our cats then had a stare off which I left them to. Thursday. Mr Cream was back on my doorstep crying, then later when Simba was going out I saw a completely black cat at the end of the garden. Today mr Cream rolling on his back showing off his completeness and a dark tabby lurking under the fire escape which I have also seen at other times. Are they texting or on twitter do you think? Simba is normally very confident but even he hesitated on the doorstep yesterday afternoon.
