Hi new to the group I'm due in June 1st time mum very excited! Don't know if this is the right group but would love to know if anyone else has experience this ?

Ive got 2 loving cats . Since I found out I was pregnant one of the cats have started to spray in the house . She's all neutered. And this not a normal thing for her to do . We have been back and forth from the vets she's been treated for urine infection and is all clear. But she keeps doing it . My vet thinks behavioural issues and she's stressed about my pregnancy😞 and suggested if it carry's on you might have to re home her ( which I don't want to do as she's my rescue baby ) . I'm just wondering if anyone has experience this and what was the outcome ?

My other cat won't leave me along and very clingy to me now . ❤️
Any advice would help tia

You should get this moved to the cat topic area...think it might be the litter tray? If you report your own post and ask mumsnet to move it for you.

We've moved this one over now -

I'm bumping this for you. I'd be astounded if she were stressed about the pregnancy when the baby isn't even here yet, but I have no experience to offer on this. Hoping someone else will.

Has anything else changed in your routine since being pregnant - for example is your partner doing the litter trays and maybe not keeping on top of them to the same standard (DH took some training as was usually my domain!)?
Have you tried Feliway?

Have you noticed any new cats in the neighbourhood? Are your 2 cats getting on OK with each other?

Nothing really we was quite lucky we didn't have litter trays the cats never used them . They are back now and yes we use feliway and pet remedy as well . They might be a new cat on the block but she's bit of a bully 🙈 I will keep an eye out thanks for the reply 😊

Even if they normally go outside, if they started toileting in the house I'd definitely get a litter box. Just in case something outside has changed (another cat, fox, weather, age).

^this, especially if there's a potential bully on the block stopping them feeling safe toileting outside

Try Cystease mixed in her food, it’s very palatable.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/01/2022 21:45

Try ultra clumping litter too, some litter is like Lego blocks for them to tread on.

Hi all thank you for your feed back , we have litter trays back in the house I will look at different litter now to see if that helps ☺️ we have all of the stress and cystitis things for her to put on her food . And all of the feliway and pet remedy plug ins as well . If you know any other diffusers helped us know
