Sicky cat

I have two indoor cats, both of whom have been quite sicky from kittenhood - at least one vomit a month, sometimes more. A few years ago one of them became quite unwell with struvite stones and although her life was saved, she was left with one kidney smaller than the other and we are very very careful about being on the lookout for any signs of kidney problems. For the last maybe month she has been vomiting more than usual - once or twice a week. Almost always on the bed in the middle of the night Envy

I had a very sicky cat. She was on Royal canin, and vomiting daily at least. Swapped her to Iams and it's reduced to about once a month.

I'm going to try her on wet food for a bit and see if I can get the fussy little bugger to eat it.

Both mine are somewhat sicky, but I've noticed that they tend to do it more when there's a hairball on the way. Indoor cats are more prone to them I gather as they remove more hair that outside cats who shed it & rub it off as they pass foliage. Maybe try them on some form of anti hairball stuff - mine get Indoor formula dry food interspersed with anti hairball dried.

It could be the food, definitely. Mine vomit a lot more on certain kibbles than they do others.

2 huge hairballs came out of my very sicky cat recently.

Mine eats wet food only (or raw) and is still a vomiting cat BlushGrin
He throws up for fun, if he's cross at me, if the weather is "wrong"....

I would have her checked for pancreatitis as regular vomiting is one symptom.

And - after upchucking 2 days in a row Boycat produced a shed load of hair this morning. He's a bit weird in that he doesn't do hairballs as such, he produces a sort of "hair soup".

Vet said unlikely to be pancreatitis as she has no other symptoms and is perfectly content otherwise.

Maybe I just need to get a waterproof blanket for my bed.

One of my friends feeds her cat with kidney issues on a raw diet and says it's worked wonders but there seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about those online and also I can't imagine mine would ever eat it.
