Kitten food

I’m sure that 15 years ago, when I got my lovely old cat who was sadly pts last year, no one batted an eye if you just fed them Whiskers. Now it seems, having become the happy owner of two 4 month old kittens, this is deemed low quality. I’ve looked at Lily’s Kitchen and some of the other premium brands, but they seem so expensive. Is there a ‘middle quality’ (and price!) option that anyone would recommend? They are currently fed a combo of whiskers wet and Iams dry.

My 3 absolutely love Proplan pouches. We also feed them felix, ava, hills and others so they get lots of variety. Dry food is whiskas or go cat kitten. They're now 8 months old & happy eaters of most things.

Iams wet pouches went down okay with them but I've not been able to get them locally. £4ish a box.

We use Bozita tetrapaks. They work out cheaper than felix etc...... as we get 4 servings out of 1 pack. They are 6.99 for 6 packs at zooplus.

We also use Rosies Farm but that is more expensive.

We only serve wet food as dry food is not great for cats.

In my experience, cats decide their own diets. You just spend money finding out what they will and won't turn their noses up at Grin

Yes, you'll get people telling you that Whiskas and Felix are "McDonalds for cats" but let's be honest - millions of people raise their cats on those foods with no problems at all.

Mine are fed Felix because it's the only brand all three of them will consistently eat and I'm guaranteed empty bowls. I only ever feed a high quality dry food though as they seem far less fussy about that!

Bit like someone else said we get high meat content dry food currently purizon and applaws.
Wet we get a mixture of whatever will get eaten.

Mac's kitten food and Orijen cat and kitten biscuits. Mine is also 4 months old costs a fortune to feed.
