Rodney needs a new cat carrier

Can anyone recommend a strong carrier for Rodney, our half Bengal please? We’re currently using a small dog carrier but he’s strong enough to push the lid off now. He’s going to be a big cat so we need something larger and strong enough for him, I’d be grateful for any recommendations, thank you.
He’s been to the vet this morning with a scratched eye, we have antibiotic cream to apply twice a day. He’s very subdued but still enthusiastic about mealtimes so I’m hoping he’s ok, but DH and I are obviously concerned about him. He goes out during the day now, is very good at coming home and we keep him in at night, and will keep him in while he’s unwell.
I wrote recently about his biting, he’s calmed down a lot since being allowed out, still has the odd mad moment where he’ll play attack, but it’s nothing like it was. A firm ‘Rodney, no’ and getting up and walking away seems to work for us - plus thick clothing!

This is what vets/rescues etc use. It's strong enough to last forever and is impossible for a cat to escape from. Also, being a top loader, it's very easy to put the cats in it.

We have a 6kg verrrrry box resistant ginger Tom.

We have the MDC one; it’s sturdy enough for him and the top loader means we can easily drop him in rather than needing to force him through a small doorway whilst he scratches and bites. We invested after the last trip to the cattery we turned up an hour late with blood spatters all over my partner’s cream trousers…!

He also enjoys being able to see out whilst travelling!

I have a Metalcote one which is virtually identical to the MDC ones. It's brilliant.

Thanks for your replies, I’ll order the mdc one, looks really strong. I’d love to see a photo of the 6kg ginger tom!
On another note, does anyone have suggestions as to how to administer antibiotic cream to a cat who has no intention of letting you near his eyes?

For a large cat the msc can be very hard on your hands plus we recognise that being able to see out all sides is not great for cats and if your using one of them it should have a cover.
I always recommended the cat Cabrio it is front and top opening and is very strong - dogs travel in these as well.

We have a Sleepypod Air for our Norwegian Forest. Because it’s dark and cosy he’s quite calm in it.

You can get a fitted cover for the MDC one.

I bought the Cabrio thinking it would be great and never used it as 1. It makes a very loud noise when you click the top together and 2. It would be very easy to trap a flailing limb or tail as you close the top.

Rodney is beautiful, any chance of another pic please ? 😻

Harry's got the Cabrio in purple (I want to change it for pink). We tried one of the wire baskets and it was awful, he was practically hanging upside down. I don't want to faff around with a cover so the Cabrio suited what I wanted.
