Tinned/bulk catfood

To keep costs down I feed mostly tins, supplemented by a bit of dry and half a pouch each per day. The dry food I try to keep high meat content, and I'd really like to switch to some higher meat content tins or equivalents, does anyone have any ideas?

Zooplus do a range of decent quality foods, Feringa, Smilla and Bozita are a few that might be worth a look?

Zooplus do high meat content tins, I use feringa animonda carny, they smell good enough for me to eat.

Another vote for ZooPlus here: lots of choice of good quality wet & dry; & they often have taster packs of things plus special offers running that let your cat[s] try things & decide what they think, which makes purchasing in bulk a less terrifying prospect! I save up to do big orders for my cats as it works out cheaper; & have a membership of their discount scheme - I more than make back the cost of it, indeed I do so several times over! You earn points on your purchases too and the rewards are actually good - there are always nice food/treats available & as an example I got the mixed pack of 6 200g cans of Wild Freedom food. One can is tea for my cats (they have dry food in the morning & wet in the evening) so that’s almost a week’s evening meals free.

Feringa is very popular here (Nijinsky is on the [senior cat] dry as well as being a fan of the wet - Balanchine has Beaphar renal dry food [& pronefra in the wet food]) - mostly trays & pouches because my hands are so unreliable, but when I can manage tins they’re hugely appreciated. Bozita comes in wee TetraPaks (again mine get half each) or big cans (apparently pouches too, but…) & somehow manages to be high quality, grain free, made with fresh & recognisable bits of meat & fish, generally gubbins-free…but reasonably priced. I only got 6 cartons each of the duck & the elk this shop rather than getting a big saver pack - £3.15/kg rather than £2.63/kg is still excellent!

It’s worth occasionally checking Amazon too - if you find something that’s a real hit/you want to give as a treat, checking if Amazon has a better price is always wise. (Chicken Scrumbles, for example, even with ZooPlus doing a special offer = cheaper on Amazon. They also get a Hi Life food for Senior Cats that ZooPlus don’t do. Not that my cats are spoilt or anything.)

Good luck with the food shopping [& swapping] Grin
