Where is kitten hiding toys?

Obligatory kitten photo, as the rules demand.

But seriously where is he hiding his little mice and bouncy balls?

I am stumped!

Behind the sofa. Under the sofa. Under the dresser. Under stuff, basically.

Under the fridge

ArabellaStrange · 07/09/2021 09:16

I've looked under the bed and the sofa, behind the fridge is a possibility would not be able to get them under the fridge.

Try using a coat hanger to get toys from under the fridge.

ArabellaStrange · 07/09/2021 09:18

Not behind the fridge. Will have to follow him after getting out another one, bought a large bag because I knew this would be a thing!

Quite a lot seem to end up under the fridge here due to over-enthusiastic play. Ditto the washing-machine: a HUGE amount were recovered when latter was replaced earlier this year…

Has he a bed that comes apart in any way? Under the mattress (obviously toys = cat currency Hmm ) is quite popular here, or even just under the blanket. Their closed-in beds they just stick toys into the back corners. They’ve also a habit of tucking Favoured Toys in with me as I sleep - if he’s doing that with you I suppose there’s a small chance of mouseys being tangled in bedding &/or bed? If he’s found himself a preferred high-up spot he may be taking his Treasures there.

(Also, adorable kitten is adorable. Good luck with the toy hunt…)

I'm sorry I didn't read the question I was gazing at him with his little tongue poking out

ArabellaStrange · 07/09/2021 09:34

No bed specifically for him, looked under the washing machine not there, hmmm under a duvet cover is possible had checked under the pillows already.
And he is utterly lovely (but all kittens are really, even Sphinx cats!)

One has literally just vanished in moments. Threw it for him, looked down at my laptop looked back up and its gone. Don't even think he left the room, most bizarre.

Any way he could be getting them inside the furniture? When my pair first came home, they managed to wriggle themselves inside the sofa via a gap in the cover at the back!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 07/09/2021 18:21

My mum used to "unplug" the hose from her cylinder vacuum cleaner to store in the corner. The cat used to drop things into the exposed hole.

ArabellaStrange · 08/09/2021 18:42

Found them buried in a slipper under a chest of drawers in the bedroom, seems that a furry slipper that has been untouched for months is the ideal hiding place for kitten toys. So that's saved a trip for new balls for the moment, though still loads stashed in a drawer.
Here's another picture of him with one. He's so adorable I feel all fuzzy inside.

Too much ❤️❤️❤️
He could get away with absolutely anything couldn’t he ?

TaraR2020 · 08/09/2021 23:50

Ohh that's so adorable!!

Babdoc · 08/09/2021 23:56

Cats are pandimensional beings, that can move objects into parallel universes. And then bring them back just after you buy a replacement.
Your kitten hasn’t quite got it right yet, hence the early rematerialisation inside the slipper.
Give him time… Grin

Motorina · 09/09/2021 07:30

@Babdoc is right.

Also, they can walk through walls.

ArabellaStrange · 09/09/2021 19:23

@Babdoc I firmly agree and have done ever since reading about the theory in one of the Discworld books.

He’s adorable 🥰 A tiny anarchist.

ArabellaStrange · 12/09/2021 11:56

Slight bump, partner's friend came over, kitty took one sniff of his hand and then went proper fuzz ball, not happy with the way partners friend smelled at all.
Should I be worried?

No, that's normal.
