Deterring the neighbour's cat

A cat from over the road is increasingly coming into our garden and causing aggro with our cat - there's some form of screechy scrap several times a week, and these have been getting worse.

I don't want to keep ours in - she loves being outside, and hates being confined, and the garden is her 'patch' after all, but equally this other cat is bothering her. (Our cat was here first, it's not like the other cat was used to having our garden as its territory).

We are on holiday for 2 weeks soon, and the cat will be in the cattery. So it would be a good time to do something to deter the unwanted visitor.

It's a one-time thing, so what can we do that will work well to stop the cat coming in the garden, that we can easily remove when ours is back. I was thinking of those ultrasonic things, but do they work?

Any other suggestions/thoughts?

Motion activated sprinkler?

I wouldn't be happy leaving a tap on for 2 weeks (even if it was motion sensitive). Plus no sprinkler could cover the whole garden (it's not that big, but sprinklers don't have a massive range).

I can't think of anything to be honest. One of my cats is a pain in the arse. He loves going out, seeks out trouble and always come off worse. No matter how many times the same cat slaps him, he'll still go and sit in her front garden...

I would not use this for 'training' my own cat, and it is very expensive, but it might work for deterring an invader cat.

I don't think that would work outside though - it's only got a range of 1m, so the pesky cat would have to get very close to it. Might work if it always came into the garden the same way, but I've seen it come under the front fence, down the side of the house and under the hedge at the back! It's a determined blighter.
If I see it come in (or in the garden) I shoo it off, but I'm not in the garden, or in sight of it, that much!

I wondered whether to talk to its owners, but I wouldn't expect them to keep it in (because I wouldn't keep mine in), and they can't control where it goes. For all I know, mine goes in their garden, but I very much doubt it as I'm sure she wouldn't go near the other cat out of choice.

@LemonMuffins - I have a feeling the other cat may have come off worse in yesterday's scrap, judging by the fur left on the patio. But I'd rather they didn't scrap at all!
