We are hopefully ( fingers crossed ) moving house soon.

Any tips for my cat during this time.

He doesn’t and has always refused a littertray. So I’m planning on building a temporary catio when we get there. No idea i f this will work. So he can still go outside and go to the loo. Any other ideas of this would be great.

Any other tips for the cat on moving day. Never moved with a cat before. So I am fairly worried about how he will handle this. He is nearly 12. So not a young cat and has lived in this street his whole life.

If he’ll tolerate a cattery for an overnight and then moving day, then I’d consider that.
If he won’t then I’d put in a room you can secure on arrival at your new place where no one can enter for the day. Put a sign on the door. Our cat managed to escape on moving day and didn’t return for three days.

Start getting him ready by leaving his travel box out now, so that he can pop in and out of it and get used to it. Put a few familiar things in there for him. On moving day leave him in a room and lock the door, so that no-one can get in. If you can't lock it, then put him in the travel box as soon as moving company arrives. When you ransfer him to the new house, leave him in a locked room/box until you're set-up and ready. You might have to get a litter tray for him, as it could be a while before he can go outside. If you're moving far away, it's a good idea to take him for a few trips in the car in his box, so that he can get used to it. Good luck in your new homeSmile
