I've got visitors and I could do with advice

I could do with some advice about whether to feed them or not. I've googled local rescues but I don't know if that's jumping the gun at this point.

I've seen the mother cat about my garden and at one point she was a bit scratched as if she had been in a fight but then healed and seemed fine since then.

I got the impression she was young but she's back now with two kittens. She was a bit wary and wouldn't come close before but she came up to my door as if looking for food this morning so I gave her some plain chicken and offered water but she'd no interest in the water.

I'd assumed she belonged to someone but is that likely with two kittens? They seem very young and were sleeping under the tree in the shade when I first came down. None of them look especially skinny to my eyes but I don't know anything about cats really.

When we had a pregnant stray turn up Cats Protection gave us cat traps so we could take them to get the cat and kittens spayed/neutered. We then released them back on our land to live as feral cats. Mum and one kitten ended up as our proper pets and the others disappeared. But at least they weren’t able to breed and breed.

Thank you for looking after them

Thank you for doing this. Ask them to bring them back they look like my three strays and its so easy just to feed them and get them a waterproof kennel. Sounds like your neighbour is on board so you can do shared care just like me and mine. Good luck!

My neighbour gets all the credit so far, she was way ahead of me in feeding them and ringing round.

They were back this morning for breakfast and ate the food but ignored the water.

Good news, I rang back cats protection and my neighbour had already rung this morning and has arranged to collect a trap as there's a big waiting list for the volunteers who do it. So we just need to sort food and shelter for future, I'm off to buy cat food this morning and I'll talk to her before buying a kennel since she might want them to live in her garden since she's done all the work.
