Cat turf wars

Help!

Im temporarily looking after a very fabulous and lovely middle aged boy. He's gentle, very affectionate and doesn't go very far - just potters around my garden enjoying the sun.

BUT my neighbour has is a young, sleek silver cat who thinks my garden is his.

Things weren't too bad for the last few months but this week it's escalated with 2 fights already. One resulted in a trip to the vets for DCat with a very painful leg.

Any ideas what to do? Clearly I can't stop another cat visiting - cat proofing the garden is tricky and probably not worth it. But any ideas of how to avoid more fights would be really appreciated. It's so distressing for me and DCat.

Oh and here's the obligatory picture!

Water pistol for the sleek silver one

You could only let him out supervised? He’s lovely 😊

Hmmm... I think supervised might be the way to go. It seems a shame to restrict his outdoor access but it looks like neither of them is going to back down.

Thanks for the advice Smile

Having the same issue here with NDN's newest cat, fur literally flying, one of their other cats has moved in with us and their other one doesn't like it either. I think the water pistol route sounds my best bet.

Water pistol. Does no harm but makes your territory hostile and one that it wants to avoid.
