Cat asthma and insurance

Just wondering if there’s anyone on here who can give me some advice. My cat has been wheezing/coughing/hacking for about a week on the odd occasion so I spoke to the vet and she said monitor him as sounds like a hairball. Clearly isn’t as it’s got worse and he’s been struggling to breath, so I strongly believe it’s asthma.

With my insurance company, it’s a £75 excess charge for any illnesses, fair enough, but if there’s back and forth to the vet racking up a small bill each time, will I have to pay these all separately or is it standard to add to an account so that the insurer can potentially cover once I’ve paid the excess?

I hope that makes sense!

Usually they are all lumped together. Has the vet considered covid? Cats can get it.

Hopefully! All the little vet bills add up so quickly. My appointment is at 2.50 today so I will mention that. I didn’t even think about covid Confused

The excess charge should be for the illness itself rather than a visit, so if you have 5 visits all to diagnose/treat the same illness then they are one claim along with any treatments/meds.
