So much wee!

My big boy (neutered) cat is just a normal cat.

But he seems to urinate a lot more than he seems to drink.

Maybe I'm just not there when he's golloping the water down! Or maybe there's a lot more moisture in cat food than I realised.

Any thoughts?

Cats actually get most of their hydration from their wet food. They aren't big drinkers unless they have dry food (which isn't the best as it can cause chronic dehydration according to my vet).

My boys are on 100% wet and barely ever drink and do big wees also! Grin

Thank you, ScottishNewbie!

I really appreciate your kind reply.

I just can't fathom where all this wee is coming from when he floods the litter tray every morning!

They are funny little things aren't they!?
I scoop out the clumps in the litter twice a day for my boys and they are MASSIVE!
I heard one of them wearing once and had to laugh, such a typical male Grin so loud!

I know! When he's doing a big wee onto dry litter it is VERY loud!

My two youngest girls (sisters) make me smile each night.

When they realise I'm on my way to bed (by hearing me switching off various sockets in the living room) they appear from wherever they've spent the evening, and immediately each do a wee at the same time (in separate litter trays) before joining me in the kitchen, hoping for a bedtime snack.

I'm sure it's beecause they know that they're going to bed, and don't want to be bothered having to get up in the night if they should need a wee.

That's very sweet, and much more sensible than my boys who have no problem getting themselves and us up in the night.
I woke up this morning to one of them nibbling gently on my shoulder (to be fair, it was 6 minutes past breakfast timeGrin )
They have their morning poos together at around 4. 30am! Quite the gross bonding experience, and I don't know how they synced up on that one haha.
