How best to introduce kittens to our resident Siamese?

Our resident Siamese, Ursula, became an only at the end of February when our old oriental girl died. She’s 6 and really not enjoying being an only. So, at the end of the month we’ll become servants to two new kittens, also Siamese, both girls. They’ll be 15 weeks when they arrive ❤️

I’ve read so much different advice on how to handle the introduction! The internet seems in favour of a long, slow introduction much as used to introduce adult cats to one another (which is what we did when Ursula joined us at a year old). Can’t find anything Siamese specific though. The breeder is happy to advise but says she’s not introduced kittens to older cats herself for a long, long time. Although fully registered, it’s a tiny, hobby cattery with very infrequent litters. Her advice is to approach it very casually and pretty much let them get on with it.

So, Siamese lovers of MN, what’s the best, least faffy approach?

Gosh, forgot the photo! Lilac and seal tortie points they are. They have 3 brothers, 2 red points and a cream point.

No idea but they are gorgeous and I want one, we lived with an Oriental girl for 12 years and they are such fun and such great characters. I guess you just bring them home and see how it goes, they will be noisy whatever you do and I doubt they will want to be shut up in one room apart from each other.

Lovely kittens.
I went for a quick introduction, although obviously they were never left alone together. My kitten was so tiny I do not think he knew what it actually was and he wore a look of disgust on his face for many weeks.
Luckily my older cat was very tolerant, I think had he not have been the kitten would be dead meat by now. To be honest the kitten terrorised him for two years. Recently she is better but I have just witnessed an attack as I type this.
Having had cats all my life I have never known such a terror, but lovable kitten.
Looking back I thought my older cat missed his companion but in all honesty I am sure he would have benefited from a quieter life and it was me who was doing the missing.
Getting two is a great idea as they will be playmates and hopefully leave your resident cat in peace.

My friend has five. When one goes over the bridge she gets another kitten quite quickly. Literally lets it out of its carrier with no faffing. Siamese seem to accept new arrivals. At least hers do.

I’d go long and slow with a meezer. Jackson galaxy videos are useful.

Thanks all! Still not sure what to do for the best, interesting to hear about your friend going with similar casual approach @EachandEveryone

@Fluffycloudland77 I’ve had a look at his channel but he doesn’t seem to have anything much about Siamese (or orientalists). Thanks though

Any luck have they come yet?

Those pictures have made my day. I love siamese and Orientals 😍

I don't have any experience with them specifically but I keep sphynx who are equally as demanding and needy.

I followed Jackson galaxys advice around scent swapping and no visual contact for the first few days when introducing my new girl. Just don't be put off when you hear the inevitable hissing.

I would say to make sure the resident meezer has a high vantage point out of the kittens reach so your resident can observe and have some peace from them. Maybe a high wall mounted bed?

Lovely photos. I’m following as have one Siamese but I’m kicking myself for not getting two.
