Dirty nose and chin!

My ten year old cat often gets food on his lovely white nose and fails to clean it properly so he has a dirty nose. More recently, he also getting food on his chin and that’s also becoming engrained. How do I get him to groom himself properly!

I’d give him a once over with a warm damp flannel. Little soap dodger.

I’ll try but I’m not sure he’ll like that. He’s quick to swipe with his claws!

I have an elderly ginger girl, with a little pink nose. She had to have some teeth out a few years ago.
So she gets food stuck on her chin. I use a Nivea wipe, that does the trick, as slightly moisturized, so chin does not get sore.

A cat burrito - wrap him tightly in a towel/blanket - he will probably protest but then you'll be able to give him a good wipe with a flannel, if needed cotton buds to clean around the fiddly nose bits!
At least he won't claw you or be able to claw himself so it will be safe and hopefully quick and painless!

If the towel trick isn’t working try popping him in a washing bag - the kind you use for shirts or other delicate items, and zip it up with just the cat’s head exposed. Works for all sorts of things when the claws need to be taken out of play.

Like the sound of cat burrito! Will give it a try. He’ll be livid!

One of my males was a mucky pup. I had to bath him.
