Two cats

I have been 'cat-sitting' my daughter's adorable cat throughout lockdown as her rental flat didn't allow cats. She and her partner are now moving into a house where cats are allowed yay! but my partner and I are desolate at giving Gertie up.

We can only home indoor cats because w are in a flat but Gertie has been very happy with us and we are considering rehoming another. Thing is I've seen a 4 year old bonded pair who would be perfect but am concerned about the costs of insurance, food, vet bills etc for two cats. Can anyone advise what the annual cost might be? Daughter says it is £1000 for Gertie alone which sounds a lot. TIA.

I have 2 indoor only cats, a bonded pair which was always my ideal. They cost me currently about £30 a month for insurance, and they have an annual "MoT" with their jabs which costs about £65 each all in.

As they are indoor only, I only worm/de-flea them once a year (plus once extra the time I had a mouse invasion) so that's another £15 for a pack of 3, 2 years out of 3.

The cost of feeding is dependent on so many factors - age, size, activity levels, food quality etc. I buy in bulk as I have the space, and it's about £70-80 every 6 months or so with a cheap pouch & better quality dry.

The only thing better than one cat is two. I have two indoor cats. I got a multipet discount on my insurance. And once you e bought the stuff for one, it's not that much more for two.

I bulk buy my food and am probably going to candle one of their vet plans so they can share flea and worming treatments.

If you get two identical cats. It's a whole new level of fun. Grin
