Stress peeing

I could really do with some advice please. My cat has been using her litter tray excessively for the past few days, also licking herself a lot around her back end and mewing (she's not usually much of a mewer!)
I took her to the vets on Friday and he ruled out any physical issues and said it was probably down to stress. He said it could be as simple as another/new cat coming into the garden stressing her out. I have been given some meds which she's been having, however her behaviour isn't improving, in fact this evening she's done a couple of wees in the lounge on the carpet Sad She's never soiled in the house before. We have two covered litter trays with wood pellets in which she's always used happily.
We have another cat, they're not siblings but have always been together, we rescued them both 4 years ago.
I'm trying to think how to help her, I got a feliway and plugged it in today but she seems spooked? She's pacing around now and won't settle, she's had her usual routine of evening biscuits and then I lock the cat flap and keep them both in overnight.
I guess I will ring the vets again tomorrow but in the meantime does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? I really don't want her to get in the habit of weeing in the house.

I have a stress weeing cat. We try and keep change to a minimum as that is her trigger to start weeing again.

Here are things we have tried and had some success with. None of these suggestions are an instant fix, the food for example takes time to take effect and needs to be the cats main diet.

It's worth trying Feliway diffusers in the house:

We have had success with a calming food prescribed by our Vet (Royal Canin calm biscuits):

You could ask the Vet about a course of Zylkene to reduce stress & anxiety:

Oh one other thing - we had always used paper pellet litter (for years) but for some reason stress weeing cat decided she didn't like it anymore.

One of things we tried in our desperation when things were at their worst was to change one of our two litter boxes to a clumping litter. She immediately started using that exclusively. Over time I have switched so we use the clumping litter in both boxes. It's a pain as I prefer our old litter but it's sooo better than the inappropriate weeing.

She will still act out very occasionally but that is usually if something changes in her routine or we have moved furniture or dared to buy her a new bed etc.. she is really not good with any change, super highly strung!

Thanks so much for your helpful reply @ChequerBoard I was wondering if the Feliway had caused a negative reaction as she was very unsettled once I'd had it plugged in for a couple of hours, lacing around. I could try a different type of litter as we have two trays, she's always used the wood pellets and seemed quite happy but who knows, it could help. Will definitely look into the calming food, fab idea. And will ask the vets about the zyklene too.
Thank you, all very helpfulSmile

Definitely go back to the vets, just in case but you could also try. True Hemp calming or urinary health treats
Nutracalm
Dorwest skullcap and Valarian
Pet Remedy
Broadreach relaxing moments

Thanks I've never even heard of any of those! Off to google!

A little update if anyone is interested.
We've made a few changes which seem to be helping, managed to get a great cat tree delivered in super quick time from Wayfair, she's already explored it and had a little snooze on the higher level, she seems to like being able to get yp high and watch out over the garden.
Got some clumping litter, I put some in one litter tray and she's been exclusively using that and ignoring the wood pellets in the other that, so will keep that going.
Have drawn all the lounge curtains and kitchen blinds, we don't usually do this as we're not overlooked and like them open but she seems much less spooked this evening.
Am waiting for some of the calm dry food to arrive.
She does seem much calmer this evening which is so nice to see, thanks for all the helpful advice @ChequerBoard Smile

Oh and I got a feliway but she went loopy when it had been plugged in for a while, prowling around and looking everywhere, for another cat I presume! I guess she's one of the cats Feliway has the opposite effect on!
