So much for insurance

I'm just having a little rant to make myself feel better. My one year old cat has been diagnosed with stomatitis and we have been advised that dental extractions will be the best chance for him. As he is only young and this is not a cosmetic procedure I naively thought it would be covered by his insurance policy only to find if isn't. Its in their terms and conditions that they only cover dental treatment due to injury and I hadn't seen it - not that I would have foreseen or realised this anyway. I'm so annoyed with them and myself. I thought I'd done the responsible thing by going for a lifetime cover etc.

Lots of things are not covered. The insurance company is always quids in.

No insurance covers dental sadly. Its really important to read the policy.
My insurance company paid out almost 10k on medical conditions for my last cat RIP so it was a lifesaver but never on dental.

They were certainly not quids in on my cat but they never complained just paid up.

I wouldn't normally expect dental treatment to be covered as you've both said but I honestly thought that as the stomatitis is an immune condition and extraction (hopefully) will be the 'cure' for it that it should be covered. Lesson learnt!

Some do, but it really depends on the reasons for the treatment.

Bought by many seems to cover dental as long as you get an annual dental check. That's who I'm with

Thank you.
