How can I encourage our cat to poo in a different flowerbed?

As above really. Our cat uses a flowerbed in our garden which I’m very happy with as she’s not annoying the neighbours and I don’t need to clean out a litter tray.

However, she’s chosen the one that is right outside our kitchen window so very visible when she goes! Also that’s where we’ve put some of our nicest plants as they are most in view, so I don’t really want her digging there.

Any ideas on how we encourage her to move to one of the more hidden spots? Anything we can sprinkle that might make it more appealing to her?

Small pointy sticks or twigs stuck in the flowerbed between plants are useful at deterring cats, and don't detract from the overall look.

Oh thanks! Yes I will certainly try that with the place she uses now.

I’d prefer her to adopt a different flowerbed in our garden, rather than moving to a neighbour’s garden for toilet purposes, so wonder if there is any way of making a particular flowerbed appeal to her...

I keep the soil hoed in a few places in our garden so it's easier to dig. I did it with our last cat as she got older and our current younger cat prefers to go where the soil is looser.

Ah thanks that’s a good idea

Mine goes on the gravel right in the middle of the garden and leaves it there - it's a poo mountain!! I must get rid of it.

Ah maybe I should be grateful she’s not doing that! Grin

Bury some of her poo where you want her to go and make sure the soil is broken up so it's not clumpy.
