I don't think he's my cat any more...

One of my cats has clearly voted with his paws, as he's only been in the house about 3 times since Christmas. I see him round and about occasionally and my two doors down neighbour tells me he spends a lot of time in her house, so I know he's generally OK. At this point, do I try and get him back or offer him to one of his other families?
Our other cat is absolutely fine, I think she loves being part of a one cat family 😂

I'd talk to the other neighbours and see what they think. Has anything changed in your house, new baby, dog etc.?

Well if your ok with it ask if they want the chip details changed.

We had a multi cat household and they were happier as each one passed away. We got down to one but the neighbours cat was being abused so she nicked it. Resident alpha female pretended he didn’t exist. The neighbours cat here passed away and his brother was ok with being an only cat. I think they thought he’d look for his brother.

He started being elusive when our little girl started walking, but was fine when she was a baby. Maybe I should ask the neighbours if they want the toddler 😂
DH has suggested that about changing the chip details. I'd like to check I know which is his "main" home first though. I sense a local leaflet campaign in my near future 🙄
Such a shame, he's a lovely affectionate boy. His sister is more cuddly now he's not around though. She loves DD, it's cute to watch them play.

He's gorgeous! I couldn't let a cat go without a fight, personally. Get a chicken in the oven daily and tempt him home with cooked chicken treats.
In all seriousness though, although your neighbours may be happy to share in your cat's affections, they may not be so keen on sharing in the vet's bills so you do need to do something sooner rather than later. They need to adopt him or stop feeding him, basically.

I would ask neighbour not to feed or invite in. When he is hungry he will come home. When he is there make a fuss of him.
