Tell me about Siamese...

Looking for advice, I'm currently trying to persuade DH that we need a Siamese in our lives!
We have a very relaxed moggy, he's amazing with our baby and toddler, but not very cuddly and loves being outdoors. I'd like a more cuddly and needy cat tbh which I understand a Siamese would fit the bill!
How would a Siamese be with our current cat? He seems unfazed by other cats and often see him sat by random ones in our garden. Also do they have to be indoor cats as our current one has access to a cat flap and don't think I could deal with a litter tray long term so perhaps one might not work in that sense!
Also any ideas on purchase price?
Thanks everyone!

I wouldn’t assume you can get rid of a litter tray tbh...

My Siamese used to come in from outside to use it, plus as an adult her trips outside were completely weather dependant... they have quite fine coats compared to DSHs and really don’t like cold or wet.

re. ragdolls, i have 2 and they are the loveliest cats in the world- very cuddly, vocal and playful and love being around people. they're not indoor cats- they go out infrequently in the day for the toilet but also have a litter tray inside they can use, so they get the best of both worlds really. they don't tend to
poo indoors. the only thing i would say is that it's a LOT of brushing especially at this time of year- they are exceptionally fluffy creatures!!! but i would recommend the breed to anyone tbh as they're just so lovely Smile

I have a 17 year old Siamese.
He is loud, smart, v demanding and sat beside me right now.
He is friendly to those he likes and pretty savage to those he doesn't.
He played ball when younger like a dog.

He was shouting at me at 7:30am because I hadn't given him breakfast.
He has always been basically indoors but enjoyed a walk when younger. Now he just snoozes in the garden.

He is aging and losing him is going to be so hard. I couldn't ask for a better cat.

If my DH tells him off cat just answers back.
He is very talkative and sounds more like a parrot than a cat really.

@IHaveBrilloHair, she is gorgeous! Foof cat is mostly fine but has to take stool softeners because his pelvic canal was obstructed and couldn't be put back 100%.

One of mine takes being told off very badly. She will run off then run back at me and either bodyslam me or give me a biff with her paw!
Regarding waiting lists, it might be worth looking for breeders via the registering body for pedigree cats.

I found my kittens by emailing a breeder I liked the sound of and asking if they had any kittens coming up (none advertised) and her queen had just had kittens. She didn't actually advertise any of her kittens as they all went word of mouth.

I have a Siamese and a Burmese.

My Siamese is a bit of a scaredy cat and very gentle. He always seems to know when one of my DC are unwell and won’t leave their room or sits outside their door ( when usually he stays away from them!). He’s a really lovely gentle soul and very quiet! He’s my cat but guards the whole family! He’s also a more traditional Siamese and doesn’t have the ultra pointy face.

My Burmese is a very needy cat and ridiculously affectionate. He would have cuddles above all else. He sneaks into my DS bed and climbs inside his pyjama top. Tbh he’s a bit too needy for me but he is the perfect cat for my kids and is very very loving ( but also very naughty and somehow always getting into to trouble).

They both go out as they love being outdoors.

I’d find it really very hard not to have one of both breeds now I’ve had one!
