Is there a non-sticky-poo diet your long-haired cat will actually eat?

Last week I called the cat groomer to give the fluffster a Brazilian following repeat traumas re poo mats and danglers. She recommended a diet change, saying long haired cats don't need trims in the wild and what we were feeding was giving her a slightly upset tummy and sticky poo. We were feeding good quality food-or so I thought (Sheba, Gourmet pearl, Iams) but that made perfect sense to me so we made the switch. Unfortunately the fluffster is having none of it and rejecting all the cereal-free, natural goodness we've offered. Its been a week and while she's eaten Canagan dry, she's refused all natural diet wet food including High Life, Country Hunter, and in desperation raw mince...

Has anyone got a non-sticky-poo diet into their long-haired cat? What was it? Please tell me before she moves out in disgust at the catering standards!

That stuff isn't a good diet unfortunately full of sugar and carbs. Raw food or lily's kitchen is good. My cat was a diarrhoea enthusiast so I used to get her Hills prescription gastric diet in big bags. She loved it. Now she is on the renal diet and I find dry food stops her getting runny and messy. She's 19 and has always had a sensitive tummy.

Diarrhoea enthusiast Grin

Thank you - Lily's Kitchen and Hills noted, I'll give them a try!

My Persian has Iams vitality dry.

My vet recommended all sorts of expensive food for my Maine Coon who has sensitive digestion and it gave him terrible diarrhoea and made him ill until I switched to Whiskas. It's not high quality food but it suits him and that's all that matters.

I would try Applaws wet and dry. She is a really beautiful cat!

I've tried all sorts of 'good wet foods but my cats won't eat them. Although they've been turning their noses up at just about all the wet food we offer recently. They eat the grain free dry food still so thats good. They like cooked chicken from asda and can tell if you offer stuff from tesco Grin

P.s. the dry food i give is thrive and encore. Think the Canagan you're giving is supposed to be good too

Ooh lots of fellow sufferers!

She's not nearly as posh as she looks.

Applaws, thank you.

She loved Iams but I think that's got grain in so might send us back to square one. I quite agree @bitheby and don't mind what she eats as long as it does give her the squits, sadly I think Whiskas did.

@dementedpixie that's hilarious... mine might be going the same route as yours. I'll try all the non-pooey wet brands mentioned here and if she won't eat any of them we'll be on posh dry and (asda) chicken. Blardy cat.
