Kitten escaped vest

Hi
Our kittens were neutered today. The vet put them in puppy vests because they didn't have kitten ones.
They have both escaped. We're worried they'll get hurt as we try to put them back on (& one is super aggressive about it).
We've had to split them up so they don't play fight and a really hurt each other.

Any ideas?

When my cats got spayed and neutered, they didn't wear cones or vests as they went mad with them on and they healed okay. Maybe leave them off but keep an eye on them from licking and pulling at the wound, shouldn't take too long to heal and if you notice any infection then take them back but going from my experience (with 6-7 cats) it tends to be fine? I'd keep them separate though for a week or two as if they play fight they may catch it.

Our brother and sister kittens were neutered/spayed 2 weeks ago. Neither wore vests or cones and they've been fine. They slept separately for a couple of nights so that we could keep an eye on them but they were generally less playful for a few days

Back to full wrecking the tree fitness now though Grin

Thanks. I don't remember cats when I was younger having anything after neutering so it makes sense it's probably ok.

They're pretty feisty at the moment though & I worry it's because they have pain killer in their system so could do silly stuff that hurts them without realising.

But we'll keep them apart and watch them carefully. The vet sees them again on Thursday.

Yep. One of ours did the same. Left it off as I preferred to keep my fingers, hands and face intact. She was fine. Took the other two kittens vests if the next day as they were really miserable and we discovered there wasn’t a poo hole in one of them.
All three were fine.

My male cats didn't get vests when they got neutered.

Our clinic does thousands of neuters a year. We don't put cats in vets or cones, and we don't tell owners to stop them playing.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. We're keeping them apart at night but & stopping the more ferocious play but otherwise just letting them be.

They seem to be healing nicely, just desperate to go play outside. 4?more days then they're free!
