I dont know what the etiquette is really. She sent the girls the most beautiful Christmas card today, it took me so long to find her and I bought her champagne especially to leave on the table for he next week. Damn this bloody year. So should I send her the full pay and abit extra ?

As a nurse who used to cat sit, the champagne would be a wonderful extra and more than enough!

It's up to you of course if you want to pay her extra :)

I would, if you can afford it. It's hard to find good people that you can trust in your home to take care of your animals.

Yes i meant to say i cant travel now as in tier 4. I dont see the point of her driving to me if im here so i wont beable to give her the champagne. Unless she’s completely fed up and wants a natter😃

I would if you can afford it. For all the reasons you’ve set out.

Ours collected the keys this morning. Not sure what to do either?!

Where you going out of London? Im tempted to tell her she can still come if she wants but ill pay her anyway. I suppose i wont have to pay for the parking,

Yes, we were going to visit my parents in the NE but not going now. I wondered about getting ours a voucher for Waitrose (there's one near us). I doubt she usually shops there as I reckon she spends most of her income on her animals.

Silvercatowner · 20/12/2020 08:42

I'm still paying ours. It doesn't feel right not to and we will save quite a lot of mony by not travelling.

Come on....it’s Christmas! Give her a bit of cheer.

Giving gives us good vibes too!

Merry Christmas. X

Do it if you can.

Vinorosso74 · 22/12/2020 15:00

Ours refused any payment but just said make sure we book her when we can actually go on a holiday. She dropped the keys back sooner than expected so I hadn't had a chance to get a voucher either.

TuttiFrutti · 23/12/2020 18:08

I think it depends how much notice you have given her that she won't be needed. I would pay her something, but not the full amount.

We had to cancel a holiday in April due to Covid and had a cat sitter booked - we gave her several weeks notice and offered to pay her something (can't remember how much now) but she refused.
