Wound protection advice

I'm looking for advice on how to prevent my cat scratching at a neck wound and making it worse. She has allergies and she's scratched a 2p piece size of raw skin and no fur on her neck by her chin.

I'm looking for maybe a cat scarf or top kind of cover maybe? To keep her claws away.

She sees vets Thursday and we're treating the allergies with steroids and special diet.

If it's a flea dermatitis allergy she'll need really decent flea treatment(s). One of my cats has this and it's bloody hard work as it's drives her crazy. She's a regular at the vet's, bless her, and it's getting worse sadly.

Have you cleaned the wound? We use diluted Hibiscrub. Don't use TCP or anything that will make your cat ill. Cooled boiled water is better than nothing.

We have to cone her, especially overnight.

She's an indoors only cat and flea and worm treated three monthly. There's no flea dirt on grooming, so I'm assuming it's not flea dermatitis.

She's had cat flu, and has more or less constant conjunctivitis which isn't bacterial or viral, gets a bit wheeze-y or snuffly sounding sometimes but no nasal discharge, and the scratching is the worst thing because she's scratching herself raw.

I've ordered a vest for her with a neck, but not sure if it's going to go high enough on her neck to protect the right spot.

Mine needs a vest with stockings, if they exist ...

We also had to have her claws clipped.

Poor things.
