Is there anything better than the sound of your cat snoring?

I just can't think of anything better.

My adopted boy has had a rough few years of illnesses/injuries/adventuring mishaps, and he's recently recovering from minor surgery.

He's been so happy to be home from the vets and he's curled up near me on a blanket snoring like an absolute chainsaw. It's the coziest most comforting sound ever. Smile

Awww. I saw a video of a fox laughing/cackling and that was really funny.

It’s great isn’t it? My girl snores like an old man, it’s so incredibly loud!

My favourite sound though is when she is purring but also licks her chops at the same time.

Toilenstripes · 26/11/2020 21:12

Aw, it’s a lovely sound. My girl has a soft snore, as opposed to her meow which is positively shouty.

Watching my cat clean himself is instantly relaxing. I have told dh that if I ever get dementia and am in care, he needs to ensure I have a cat!

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 26/11/2020 21:16

I don't have cats anymore but I do have a budgie - when he is content he quietly tiddles and widdles to himself, and when he is really really content he sits with his eyes half closed and grinds his beak.
I could watch and listen to him all day ( I do sometimes)

MarthasGinYard · 26/11/2020 21:20

It's the best I agree Smile

Love hearing my cats snore, purring and happily having a good old chew/bath. Also love when they roll over have a stretch and make a mixture of all three noises. I know they are content Smile

I was just thinking the exact same thing OP,
Snorg is currently snoring next to me.

Although she did once wake me up she was loud! And she was unimpressed when I switched the light on, and poked her when she suddenly stopped and went silent.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/11/2020 22:22

yes, one of mine like to sleep on the back of my chair and regularly makes me smile with her extremely loud purring, and it's an odd noise that's hard to locate cos dh sits on the sofa across and i can see him trying to work out what the noise is he can here... :o and then when she does he little whistley snores it's too funny.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/11/2020 22:23

hear, not here! godsake!

Pineapplemonkey · 26/11/2020 22:30

I couldn’t disagree more! My mog is driving me to distraction with his snoring this week. He’s always been a snorer but he’s getting worse, he wakes me (despite being downstairs and me upstairs) some nights and is constantly disturbing my work calls (because he insists on sleeping next to my desk all day obvs), I’m at the end of my tether today, the noise is sooooo loud. I’m seriously debating taking him to the vets to see if there’s anyway they can fix him

gurglebelly · 26/11/2020 22:48

My girl cat does this cute little chirpy purr when she is really happy. Boy cat makes little old man huffing noises when he is settling down next to me - hearing either one makes my heart swell

QueenPaws · 26/11/2020 22:49

The little "activation" sound Ollie makes when I wake him or come into a room. It's like a "mmmmhhh?" And a little hi human blink

Pumpkinstace · 26/11/2020 23:09

I love the little chirpy sound they make when you stoke them

JaniceSopranoJr · 27/11/2020 16:56

Aw so nice to hear about everyone's cats.

I think I love the snoring because it means he's home and safe and cozy.

It's a different story at 6am when he's standing next to my head shouting for a wet pouch.
