Cat weeing in the hallway

I've had cats before, kittens, etc.. I seem to have NO luck and feel fed up with trying and seemingly getting to the same point which is sadly not trusting him to be in certain rooms of the house, I don't want the poor animal feeling like he's got no room as I have a good sized house.

So adorable kitten who is now nearly 6 months old, settled well, very affectionate and can't fault in any other way than this.
Has used the litter tray fine and then randomly weed and poo'd on a landing in the hallway. Scrubbed it and kept an eye, it's sporadically been happening. Decided to change litter which clearly hasn't helped. Both litter trays are still used though?
He goes out a fair bit as I have a covered outdoor bit yet seems to come in and STILL do it? It's getting more common as I'm guessing the smells still faintly there.. I'm getting utterly fed up of scrubbing carpets every day.
He's had checks at the vets.. Any ideas?! Thanks

You can try Cystease capsules in case he is sore.

Which litters have you tried? Are you cleaning enough? If our departed boys tray was used overnight and he needed to go again he’d wee on the hob.

Thanks. He had wooden pellets and then I moved to cats best, so much better due to lack of smell but as I said he sporadically uses. I work from home so the trays are 95% of the time maintained..god knows what would happen if I wasn't around to check it every 5 minutes

You can self cleaning trays now. Have you tried ultra clumping? Most cats happily use that. The fact it’s the priciest is completely coincidental.

What are you using to clean the area?

You need a proper pet enzyme cleaner - something like Simple Solution should do. Absolutely saturate the area and leave it for as long as possible, then clean it off.

I've got the ultra clumping, as I said he does use it, he chooses as and when not to.. Very frustrating. As they say once they've scented its v hard to get rid of..
I've bought every pet eliminating product going and nothing seems to deter.

It could be that it's gone right through to the underlay and the boards, unfortunately.

Vanilla I know.. I rent and its right in the middle of the stairs so would cost me a fortune to replace.. Its times like this that stress me out and I wonder why I put myself through it!

Try the Cystease tablets. A months supply isn’t too pricey.
