Dry food and wet food advice.

Does anyone’s cat not really eat dried food.
I have always given mine both. But lately he only really wants the wet food.

I always have dried food down and given him wet food in the morning and the evening. Been doing this for years. All worked fine.
He came to me in difficult circumstances and didn’t always have access to food. So I have always had food available for him whenever he needs it.
But the last little while he has not eaten barely any dry just preferring wet.

He has just been for his check up. He is all fine. Teeth okay. They were happy with him.
He is 11.

I feel like I’m just wasting the dried food I’m buying and putting down for him.

Meant to add. He is not drinking any more than usual as far as I can see.

Perhaps he would like a change? If you always buy chicken flavour - try a fish one or even a different brand. Pets at home do very small taster sized bags of some dry foods. Could try that. Or see if he would eat some dry cat treats - dreamies. Or try those dry toppings that felix and whiskas do, and sprinkle some in his wet food.
If non of those worm and the vet says his teeth and jaw are fine - then don’t worry he’s just being a cat.

He has only ever eaten Lilly’s kitchen. So I change it up in terms of different tastes. But does anyone else think they have changed it? I may buy the chicken one again which he ate all off. And leave the fish one for a while and see if it’s that. That’s a good idea.

Even though we go through a lot of cat food feeding 8 +. I still swap flavours etc as they do seem to go ‘off’ it. I suppose a bit like us - wood you only want to eat one thing for weeks at a time?

So. I went to pets at hone. Got the chicken flavour that he had been eating. And he has just gobbled up a bowl. So that solved that mystery. I’m guessing that the wet food didn’t fill him up as much as that is why he has been asking for food all the time. Phew

Yes! Glad it was an easy solution.
