How to get smell of cat pee of cat

Our lad had a short trip outside and returned very bedraggled, muddy, fur in his front claws and stinking of tom cat! I would assume he's had a scrap. Aside from bathing him or leaving him out in the pouring rain (neither if which I wish to do) any ideas to get rid of the smell. The fight obviously occured when a tom has sprayed.
He is a right scrapper who loves to start a fight. He's neutered but he's like on of those aggro young blokes at kicking out time on a Saturday night!

Apologies for all the typos. My fingers aren't working!

Horrible smell that is and I only have two solutions. Dampen down some kitchen roll or an old cloth (you want it soggyish) and keep grooming the cat with it. They then groom the area where it’s wet (well at least my cat does) which helps even more. It takes a couple of days doing it like this but the smell does go!
Or make a solution of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar and water (one part vinegar to three parts water) and soak a cloth in it and wipe down the cat. This is more effective but not everyone has either of these two vinegars to hand!

By the way cats don’t like the smell of the vinegar so be prepared for some blinky eyes and the cat not being sure whether they want to
A) run away
B) stay and be stroked despite hating the smell
C) turn around and launch a swipe attack on their lovely caring owner before running away sulking and not coming near you for three days (this is what my cat does Grin)

I've tried the water (he wasn't impressed) and he's had a clean. Unfortunately the top of his head seems to be the stinkiest bit.
We only have malt or balsamic vinegar. Maybe I should buy him some Lynx body spray. Stinky beast!!!!

Don’t they say tomato sauce for fox poo? Try diluting some in water and rub down with kitchen paper soak in it, then do again in plain water.

We used to use baby wipes when the dogs rolled in fox poo. Might do the trick?

Vinorosso74 · 21/10/2020 20:46

Well I'm not sure about using the wet wipes we have; they're not baby wipes and have rather a lot of ingredients. I think I'll have another go with some wet kitchen towel before bed.
I've never had a cat who gets into as much mischief as this one!

I bathe my cat in the kitchen sink, it's the right height for me to control my cat and doesn't freak the cat out too much as it's a small space not an enormous bath or a scary shower.
She is often covered in poo as she's 19 and has disgusting toilet habits.
And yes I bleach the sink afterwards, I live alone so there is nobody else to poison.

Thankfully he smelt better the next day!
I had to put our old cat in the bath after she snuck outside whilst I was painting the fence and got the stuff on her paws. She wriggled and wriggled. DP and DD came home just as I was finished and there was orange splashed all up the tiles-like a spray tan gone wrong.

@Vinorosso74
Glad the cat smells better and the sink experience wasn’t too stressful!
