'Adopting' a cat

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of any charities where you could 'adopt' a cat in the same way they do those adopt a dolphin/panda/snow leopard things? Where they send you maybe a photo and a letter of how the animal is getting on every few months?
DS1 is cat obsessed but we have 2 already (and are getting no more!) so he'd love a Christmas present of helping another cat out

We sponsor a cat cabin at the RSPCA centre where we got one of our cats, they put out an appeal during lockdown. I think we are supposed to get regular updates but I don’t think we’ve had one for a while. I think we can visit when they reopen properly but it’s understandably closed to the public at the moment.

You could try contacting some local independent rescues that have long term/permanent residents, they might have a sponsor scheme in place.

I follow a charity on Facebook called Ginger Cat House Rescue. It's based Worcester Park/Epsom way and they have some sponsor cats who live there as they can't be rehomed. In normal times you can visit. Am sure lots of small charities do similar.
The sponsor pens is good if your DS is likely to get upset about the cat dying as cats will continually move on once they get homed.

CPL do sponsor cat pens. Maybe I should put my pair up for 'adoption' it would pay the insurance bill!
