Cat behaving oddly

Hello

Not sure what to do! Our cat is 8 years old and usually full of beans and eats everything in sight. The last day or he’s been off his food and seems to just sit by the cat flap watching out of it. If I call him he’ll come over for a pet and cuddle but even turned down dreamies! I’m just not sure if I should take him to the vets or see how he goes over the next day or two?

I’m wondering if the cat flap watching is to do with a big stray that was in our garden the other day as our cat is quite territorial!

You know the rules 📷

He’s just buggered off out typically but here was him last night after the husband tucked him up in a blanket 😂

Are the contents of the litter tray normal, and is he drinking?

Roominmyhouse · 07/10/2020 09:49

He doesn’t have a litter tray, he just goes outside so no idea. I haven’t seen him drink anything but that’s no unusual as he doesn’t really drink much at the best of times.

In other news our other cat did a shit on the spare bed this morning. Not having a good cat day!

Is he eating at all .? If not might be teeth problems , sore gums or a loose tooth , don’t leave too long before vets appointment.

They sound stressed to me and trying to avoid the big Tom. No easy answer to that I'm afraid, but a litter tray might be a good idea for them.

I still think it's worth a conversation with a vet. They might think an appointment is unnecessary but it's better to have expert advice.

Yes I think you are right. I’ll give the vet a call later once he’s back in if he doesn’t eat then and see what they say. Thanks 😊

Update he’s just had about 10 dreamies then gone back so seems to be a bit better! I’m wondering if he’s just doing that cat thing of suddenly going off a brand of food.
