What does the body language mean?

Hi!

Demelza has started going out quite abit lately, only when it’s not raining as she’s a diva.

Anyway she went out the front for the first time and I feel sick.

There’s a cat that torments her from the garden and today there was a stand off.

The other cat had a puffy tail and was just staring her out, where as Demelza was looking around and crouched down.

Ahh, I tried to get her in but she wasn’t having it. :(

The black and white cat wanted a fight, Demelza didn’t, but wasn’t going to be a wuss and run away from the posturing 😄

fluffy tail is agressive, ie I am digger than you so be scared. But cats also do it when confronted eg by a dog, to try and look more scary so the dog will leave.

Lying down is submitting.

But really, cats will do this endlessly, and then sort it all out between themselves, working out that this bit of the garden belongs to one of them, and this other bit belongs to the other one, and the route along the top of the wall is neutral territory.

It is mostly just posturing. It tends to be uneutered males who actually get as far as a fight

I am digger than you
should say - I am bigger than you!
